Obama says won't let son play pro football over fears of concussion

President Barack Obama has said he would not let his son play professional football.

Obama reiterated in a newly published interview his concerns about the dangers of the game: Violence and injuries.

According to the Washington Post, in an interview with the New Yorker, Obama said he was aware of the dangers of the sport, just as with boxing and smoking.

The comments from Obama came as the Super Bowl week is about to begin and amid reports of multiple injuries and other long-term health effects NFL players may endure after playing the sport professionally.
