U.S. led coalition airstrikes have killed at least 1,171 people in Syria in the last three months including 52 civilians and more than 1,100 Islamic State (IS) militants, said a UK based monitoring group.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that most of the dead were foreign fighters who had joined the IS extremist group, reported BBC.
Among the 52 civilians, there were both women and children as well who had been killed as a result of the airstrikes.
Islamic State has taken under large swathes of Iraq and Syria this year.
U.S. commander in charge of the mission said that it would take at least one year to defeat the IS jihadist group.
