Pakistan's Sindh High Court (SHC) has rejected a petition seeking to permanently include the name of former military ruler Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf in the Exit Control List (ECL).

Meanwhile, the SHC reserved its verdict on another request to remove Musharraf's name from the ECL and told his counsel to contact the government to get his name struck off from the list, Dawn News reports.

Musharraf's counsel had appealed the court to remove his name from the ECL so that he could go abroad to visit his ailing mother.

The counsel said that the government had included Musharraf's name in the ECL keeping in view earlier directives of the SHC.

However, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah of the SHC's division bench denied of issuing any orders regarding the inclusion of Musharraf's name in the ECL.
