Prompt response by NDRF team rescues villagers in U'khand

The heavy rains for last 24 hours in Uttarakhand raised the water level of several rivers and disrupted the normal life; for which National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team was called prompt action was taken.

Few villagers who were camping temporarily with their livestock in a jungle were trapped due to sudden rise of water in River Yamuna between village Dhakarani of Dehradun in Uttrakhand and Singpura of Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh.

NDRF team pre-positioned at Dehradun for emergency response were rushed to the site immediately at mid night with boats and other life saving equipment.

NDRF team on reaching the spot assessed the situation and immediately launched the rescue operation from Himachal side.

 

The local administration requisitioned the NDRF for saving the lives of the trapped victims.

Prepositioning of NDRF teams helped many villagers in low-lying areas.

The team made access to the victims with the help of NDRF boats and shifted all victims to the safer places.

All the 21 persons were rescued safely with the help of 2 boats.

NDRF team also assisted in shifting their livestock to safer places.
