Rains halt relief and rescue operations in Srinagar

The ongoing relief and rescue operations in the flood hit Srinagar were halted on Sunday due to rainfall. Light rainfall is also expected in the state on Monday.

Earlier, choppers dropped relief material in flood affected areas of Rajouri district.

So far, over 1,42,000 persons have been rescued by the armed forces and NDRF from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the flood ravaged state.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Jitendra Singh also took an aerial survey of flood affected areas on Saturday.
