Ram Naik sworn in as Uttar Pradesh Governor

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Naik was today sworn in as Governor of Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, D.Y. Chandrachud, administered the oath of office and secrecy to Naik.

Naik, a former union minister had served as the petroleum minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government.

Dr. Qureshi, who is the Governor of Uttarakhand, was given the additional charge of Uttar Pradesh following the resignation of B.L. Joshi in June.
