Robert Redford set to receive Chaplin Award in 2015

Film legend Robert Redford is set receive Chaplin award for his work towards independent filmmakers, it has been revealed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 78-year-old actor has been chosen by the Film Society of Lincoln Center to give their 42nd annual Chaplin Award.

Ann Tenenbaum, the group's chairman asserted that the Board was "thrilled" to have Redford as the next recipient of the Chaplin Award.

Tenenbaum added that the film world was immensely richer because of actor's contributions.

The award will be handed out at a gala event at Lincoln Center in April, 2015.
