Sensitive documents for protecting Princess Diana were found by workers at her apartment Kensington Palace in 1999, two years after she was killed in a car crash in Paris.

The super secret documents were taken to the News of the World where they ended up in the paper's former royal editor Clive Goodman's home.

The detectives seized the documents after raiding Goodman's home when the phone hacking scandal first emerged in 2006, Daily Express reported.

Goodman told the court that the documents were found in some thrown-out furniture by people who brought it to them.
