Sharif to brief Obama on efforts to resume talks between Kabul and Taliban

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to brief U.S. President Barack Obama over Pakistan's efforts on recommencing talks between Afghanistan and the Taliban during his visit to Washington this month.
According to The Express Tribune, the decision has been taken after Sharif had a telephonic conversion with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Friday and discussed the internal and regional security.
The Prime Minister is set to meet President Obama on 23rd October.
Apart from Afghanistan peace talks, Sharif will also take up the issue of Indian ceasefire violations alongside the Line of Control (LoC) with President Obama.
