Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Wednesday said India is in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to bring back underworld don and 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Dawood Ibrahim.

Expressing confidence in Indo-US joint operation, Shinde said that India had knowledge about Ibrahim's whereabouts.

Shinde, who was attending the foundation stone laying ceremony for the training camp of Border Security Force (BSF), said, "We are in constant touch with the FBI. We have been sharing information on Dawood Ibrahim and his whereabouts. We have given the required information to the FBI. We are making all efforts to ensure, that he is brought back to the country."

In September, 2013 Shinde had said that Ibrahim would be arrested soon and brought to book.

Meanwhile, Indian intelligence agencies have claimed that the gangster is hiding in Pakistan. However, Pakistan denies the allegations.

According to the agencies, Dawood was based in Karachi, where he had fled after the 1993 Mumbai bombings in which 257 people were killed and over 700 injured.
