Samajwadi Party (SP) workers across Uttar Pradesh (UP) marked party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's 75th birthday as 'Samta Diwas' and celebrated the event by cutting cakes.
"The people of UP are celebrating Mulayam Singh's birthday as 'Samta Diwas' as he always promoted transparency, equality and secularism. The people of UP and Samajwadi Party are grateful to be under his guidance and with utmost success he has worked against injustice," said a senior SP leader in Lucknow.
"His birthday is being celebrated in the entire nation, and all of us are excited as he gave a new vision to the country. He brought forward poor farmers and youth. He rules everyone heart," added an SP worker in Gorakhpur.
Meanwhile, SP workers in Noida also cut a cake to celebrate the party supremo's birthday.
Earlier today, Mulayam Singh Yadav inaugurated a medical college in Rampur District of Uttar Pradesh.
He also distributed cycles to laborers after the inauguration.
Senior leader Azam Khan is in charge of the two-day 75th birthday celebrations of the Samajwadi Party chief, which began yesterday in Rampur.
