U.S. beat Ghana in their FIFA WC opener 2-1

The United States won their World Cup opener against Ghana, thanks to a late goal from substitute John Brooks.
Brooks headed home a late winner just a few minutes after Ghana's Andre Ayew scored in the 82nd minute to level the United States' lead scored by Clint Dempsey in the first minute.
According to The Mirror, the two Group G teams have met in the previous two World Cups, with Ghana eliminating the US on both occasions, but this year Jurgen Klinsmann's side won their opening World Cup game by two goals to one.
The U.S. had conceded in the first five minutes in their previous two World Cup opening games, but got off to a good start in Natal with Dempsey netting the ball just after 29 seconds.
The U.S. will now face Portugal in their second Group G match on June 22nd.
