Haryana's Governor designate Kaptan Singh Solanki on Saturday asserted that he will take a decision on the separate Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) issue after listening to all parties to the dispute.

"I will take a decision after taking stock of the situation and listening to all sides. I will also take legal advice, if needed," said Solanki.

Meanwhile, Solanki also thanked the central government for appointing him as the Governor of Haryana.

The Haryana Government on July 11 had passed a bill in the state assembly to create an independent committee, Haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC) to monitor Gurdwaras in the state.

The Haryana Sikh Gurdwaras (Management) Bill, 2014, got the assent of the Haryana governor on July 14.

The decision came despite opposition from Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who had earlier appealed to the central government to intervene in the matter.
