Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called for a joint effort to curb crime against women.

Adityanath while addressing the International Media Conference asserted that one who shuts the eye to the anarchy, violence, and ill-governance becomes an accomplice in the all these crimes.

Talking about violence against women, Adityanath said that the women hold god-like stature in our community and their safety is of utmost importance.

"The people should join hands to end the injustices in the society and seek help from the government in order to make the country a better and a safer place", he added.

On a related note, two women in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh were allegedly given Triple Talaq over dowry.

The police have registered a case and the investigation is underway.

In another shocking incident last week, a girl in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly abducted by five people and gang-raped for 14 days.
