Air passenger traffic of domestic airlines rises 3.0% in July 2019

Air passenger traffic up 3.2% to 825.65 lakh in January-July 2019
The air passenger traffic of domestic airlines has increased at slow pace of 3.0% to 119.05 lakh in July 2019 over 115.57 lakh in July 2018 compared with 6.2% growth in June 2019 and 20.8% surge in July 2018.Air India has posted 3.4% growth in the passenger traffic to 14.79 lakh, while its share was steady at 12.4% in July 2019.
Indigo also posted strong 17.0% growth in the passenger traffic to 56.93 lakh with the share of 47.8%, followed by Spice Jet 29.5% to 18.48 lakh and Go Air 29.1% to 13.26 lakh, Further, the passenger traffic of Air Asia jumped 38.2% to 7.71 lakh, Vistara 58.5% to 7.15 lakh and Trujet 33.3% to 0.68 lakh.
The cumulative air passenger traffic increased 3.2% to 825.65 lakh in January-July 2019 over 800.40 lakh in January-July 2018.
The airline wise seat load factor was Spice Jet at 92.4%, Go Air 90.4%, Air Asia 89.5%, Indigo 86.2%, Vistara 82.4%, Air India 79.7%, Trujet 74.5%, Star Air 50.9%, Air Deccan 32.6% and Pawan Hans 19.2% in July 2019.
