Ambuja Cements gains after bulk deal

Ambuja Cements rose 0.79% to Rs 197 at 15:21 IST on BSE, after a bulk deal of 10 lakh shares was executed on the scrip at Rs 199.50 per share at 12:33 IST on BSE today, 8 February 2016.

Bulk deal boosted volume on the scrip. On BSE, so far 14.11 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3.82 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 419.64 points or 1.7% at 24,197.33

The stock hit a high of Rs 200.60 and a low of Rs 195.80 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 185.25 on 20 January 2016. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 286.85 on 3 March 2015.

 

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 5 February 2016, sliding 4.12% compared with 3.77% decline in the Sensex. The scrip, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 6.21% as against Sensex's 6.41% fall.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 310.38 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Ambuja Cements' net profit fell 35.8% to Rs 153.57 crore on 4.2% decline in net sales to Rs 2095.16 crore in Q3 September 2015 over Q3 September 2014.

Ambuja Cements is engaged in manufacturing and marketing cement and clinker for both domestic and exports.
