Australia ASX200 tumbles 1.6%

Australian share market finished session deeply in negative territory on Monday, 05 February 2018, dragged down by broad-based losses across sectors on following a sharp decline in U.S. stocks on Friday on fears of resurgent inflation stoked by a strong jobs report. The S&P/ASX 200 index slid 1.6%, or 95.2 points to 6026.2 at the close of trade. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 1207 to 186 and 203 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 25.99% to 15.18.
