Auto shares rise

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 109.65 points or 0.71% at 15658.25 at 09:45 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.56%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.38%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 1.05%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 1.02%),Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 1.02%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.64%), MRF Ltd (up 0.39%), and Cummins India Ltd (up 0.3%).

On the other hand, Exide Industries Ltd (down 0.98%), Tata Motors Ltd (down 0.89%), and Bharat Forge Ltd (down 0.84%) moved lower.

 

At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 65.91 or 0.18% at 36159.38.

The Nifty 50 index was up 11.9 points or 0.11% at 10716.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 26.73 points or 0.21% at 12676.54.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 8.02 points or 0.19% at 4212.42.

On BSE,651 shares were trading in green, 597 were trading in red and 50 were unchanged.
