Auto shares gain

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 257.76 points or 1.45% at 18056.69 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 4.79%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 3.36%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 2.31%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.78%),Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 1.75%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.71%), Bosch Ltd (up 1.67%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 1.49%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.47%), and MRF Ltd (up 1.03%).

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.49%), moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 270.16 or 0.67% at 40851.87.

The Nifty 50 index was up 67 points or 0.56% at 12038.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 83.28 points or 0.63% at 13307.26.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 26.54 points or 0.57% at 4691.49.

On BSE,1047 shares were trading in green, 369 were trading in red and 62 were unchanged.
