Auto shares fall

Auto stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 237.47 points or 1.48% at 15854.48 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 2.86%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 2.85%),Tata Motors Ltd (down 2.62%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 2.38%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 2.21%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Exide Industries Ltd (down 1.97%), Bosch Ltd (down 1.4%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 1.28%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.25%), and MRF Ltd (down 1.14%).

On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.91%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.77%), and Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.05%) moved up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 256.48 or 0.68% at 37384.79.

The Nifty 50 index was down 65.9 points or 0.59% at 11039.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 51.89 points or 0.41% at 12536.89.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 23.11 points or 0.54% at 4233.91.

On BSE,883 shares were trading in green, 1454 were trading in red and 137 were unchanged.
