Auto stocks edge lower
Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 322.98 points or 1.97% at 16083.27 at 13:45 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 4.18%), Bosch Ltd (down 3.22%),Bharat Forge Ltd (down 2.35%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 2.14%),Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 1.95%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.92%), Cummins India Ltd (down 1.88%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 1.76%), MRF Ltd (down 1.74%), and Exide Industries Ltd (down 1.71%).
On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 1.07%), turned up.
At 13:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 466.83 or 1.26% at 36656.48.
The Nifty 50 index was down 133.15 points or 1.21% at 10870.35.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 115.54 points or 0.88% at 12980.52.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 36.51 points or 0.84% at 4295.93.
On BSE,854 shares were trading in green, 1441 were trading in red and 152 were unchanged.
