Auto stocks edge higher
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 158.76 points or 0.86% at 18551.05 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 1.65%), Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 1.52%),Bosch Ltd (up 1.41%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.26%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.2%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.14%), MRF Ltd (up 1.11%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 1.02%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.86%), and Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.76%).
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 122.67 or 0.3% at 41697.81.
The Nifty 50 index was up 36.25 points or 0.3% at 12282.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 78.94 points or 0.58% at 13626.75.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 21.9 points or 0.46% at 4768.35.
On BSE,980 shares were trading in green, 495 were trading in red and 79 were unchanged.
