Auto stocks rise

Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 55.9 points or 0.35% at 15839.88 at 09:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 1.93%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.33%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.98%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 0.75%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 0.67%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Cummins India Ltd (up 0.64%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.34%), Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.28%), Bosch Ltd (up 0.19%), and Bharat Forge Ltd (up 0.05%).

On the other hand, Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 0.82%), MRF Ltd (down 0.72%), and Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.71%) turned lower.

 

At 09:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 143.08 or 0.38% at 37308.76.

The Nifty 50 index was down 43.3 points or 0.39% at 11002.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 8.28 points or 0.07% at 12500.18.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.44 points or 0.03% at 4221.39.

On BSE,654 shares were trading in green, 709 were trading in red and 69 were unchanged.
