Healthcare shares gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 67.36 points or 0.54% at 12542.49 at 09:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (up 8.84%), Vimta Labs Ltd (up 3.27%),Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd (up 2.98%),Shilpa Medicare Ltd (up 2.89%),Marksans Pharma Ltd (up 1.44%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Biocon Ltd (up 1.31%), DIL Ltd (up 1.31%), Aarti Drugs Ltd (up 1.1%), Astrazeneca Pharma India Ltd (up 0.91%), and Sequent Scientific Ltd (up 0.79%).

On the other hand, Ipca Laboratories Ltd (down 2.92%), Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 1.83%), and SMS Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 1.8%) moved lower.

 

At 09:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 143.08 or 0.38% at 37308.76.

The Nifty 50 index was down 43.3 points or 0.39% at 11002.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 8.28 points or 0.07% at 12500.18.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.44 points or 0.03% at 4221.39.

On BSE,654 shares were trading in green, 709 were trading in red and 69 were unchanged.
