China Stocks end with modest gains

The Mainland China equity market closed modest higher on Monday, 05 March 2018, after Premier Li Keqiang said growth in the nation's military spending will accelerate in the opening session of the annual legislative meeting. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.07%, or 2.40 points, to 3,256.93, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.47%, or 8.63 points, to 1830.84.climbed 0.16%, or 2.87 points, at 1,811.78.
