Consumer goods stocks rise
Consumer goods stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index increasing 3.01 points or 0.08% at 3817.69 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Unitech Ltd (up 4.43%), Kolte Patil Developers Ltd (up 3.91%),Vaibhav Global Ltd (up 3.49%),Peninsula Land Ltd (up 3.22%),Jay Bharat Maruti Ltd (up 2.75%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were D B Realty Ltd (up 2.61%), MIRC Electronics Ltd (up 2.57%), Vascon Engineers Ltd (up 2.54%), KPIT Technologies Ltd (up 2.48%), and Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Ltd (up 2.21%).
On the other hand, Trident Ltd (down 6.88%), Emami Realty Ltd (down 5%), and Kaya Ltd (down 4.98%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 160.76 or 0.39% at 41037.9.
The Nifty 50 index was down 56.95 points or 0.47% at 12072.55.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 54.48 points or 0.37% at 14786.21.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 21.19 points or 0.42% at 5069.77.
On BSE,543 shares were trading in green, 781 were trading in red and 63 were unchanged.
