Consumer goods stocks gain
Consumer goods stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index increasing 2.57 points or 0.07% at 3770.61 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Mirza International Ltd (up 9.88%), Sterling Tools Ltd (up 8.65%),Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Ltd (up 6.9%),Prestige Estates Projects Ltd (up 5.9%),Den Networks Ltd (up 4.71%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Liberty Shoes Ltd (up 4.6%), KPIT Technologies Ltd (up 3.68%), Minda Corporation Ltd (up 3.44%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd (up 3.37%), and Kitex Garments Ltd (up 3.36%).
On the other hand, Peninsula Land Ltd (down 5%), MIRC Electronics Ltd (down 4.9%), and Eros International Media Ltd (down 4.72%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 157.01 or 0.37% at 41795.62.
The Nifty 50 index was down 57 points or 0.46% at 12305.3.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 23.55 points or 0.16% at 14407.26.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 2.49 points or 0.05% at 4934.62.
On BSE,673 shares were trading in green, 720 were trading in red and 68 were unchanged.
