Eicher Motors total VECV sales declines 6.1% Y-o-Y to 5,544 units

Eicher Motors announced January 2020 sales figures for its unlisted subsidiary after market hours on Saturday, 1 February 2020.
As per the company's press release, Eicher Motors' unlisted subsidiary VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) reported 6.1% decline in total sales to 5,544 units in January 2020 from 5,906 units in January 2019. Total exports slipped 18.1% to 517 units in January 2020 as against 631 units in January 2019. Total domestic sales dropped 5.9% to 4,871 units in January 2020 compared with 5,177 units in January 2020.Total Eicher trucks & buses sales fell 7.2% to 5,388 units in January 2020 as against 5,808 units in January 2019. Sales of Volvo Trucks surged 59.2% to 156 units in January 2020 compared with 98 units in January 2019.
In Saturday's session, Automobile major Eicher Motors closed 1.09% lower to Rs 20,050.70 on BSE.
Eicher Motors is the listed parent of Royal Enfield, the global leader in middleweight motorcycles. In addition to motorcycles, Eicher has a joint venture with Sweden's AB Volvo - Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) - which operates in India's commercial vehicle space. VECV has a complete range of trucks and buses from 5-55 tonnes, and its integrated manufacturing plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh is the global hub for medium duty five- and eight-litre engines for Volvo Group.
