Energy shares gain
Energy stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Energy index rising 44.2 points or 0.86% at 5169.39 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 4.88%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (up 2.07%),Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 1.5%),Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 1.47%),Gujarat Gas Ltd (up 1.47%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Goa Carbon Ltd (up 1.46%), Aban Offshore Ltd (up 1.19%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.99%), Adani Gas Ltd (up 0.9%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.64%).
On the other hand, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (down 0.48%), moved lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 174.11 or 0.42% at 41337.87.
The Nifty 50 index was up 53.65 points or 0.44% at 12180.2.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 23.19 points or 0.49% at 4725.99.
On BSE,1023 shares were trading in green, 411 were trading in red and 61 were unchanged.
