Energy shares slide
Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 42.7 points or 0.84% at 5022.17 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 4.99%), Gujarat Gas Ltd (down 3.03%),Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.5%),Oil India Ltd (down 2.02%),Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 1.77%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (down 1.74%), Coal India Ltd (down 1.58%), Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.47%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.43%), and Aban Offshore Ltd (down 1.33%).
On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.67%), Castrol India Ltd (up 2.33%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.49%) moved up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 26.18 or 0.06% at 41181.3.
The Nifty 50 index was down 4.8 points or 0.04% at 12114.2.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 32.16 points or 0.22% at 14882.55.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 5.77 points or 0.11% at 5108.61.
On BSE,1062 shares were trading in green, 1237 were trading in red and 166 were unchanged.
