Financials shares gain

Financials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index rising 60.41 points or 0.88% at 6897.64 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd (up 3.89%), Karnataka Bank Ltd (up 3.89%),CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (up 2.86%),Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (up 2.53%),Indostar Capital Finance Ltd (up 2.03%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were MAS Financial Services Ltd (up 1.77%), Geojit Financial Services Ltd (up 1.77%), Manappuram Finance Ltd (up 1.73%), Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 1.58%), and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (up 1.58%).

 

On the other hand, PTC India Financial Services Ltd (down 7.47%), Reliance Home Finance Ltd (down 4.91%), and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (down 4.11%) moved lower.

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 143.47 or 0.35% at 41298.59.

The Nifty 50 index was up 31.6 points or 0.26% at 12150.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 79.18 points or 0.53% at 14929.57.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 16.85 points or 0.33% at 5119.69.

On BSE,938 shares were trading in green, 475 were trading in red and 61 were unchanged.
