Financials stocks edge higher

Financials stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Finance index increasing 32.56 points or 0.53% at 6184.92 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, UCO Bank (up 8.26%), Reliance Capital Ltd (up 5.69%),Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd (up 3.56%),SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd (up 3.46%),Alankit Ltd (up 3.27%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Syndicate Bank (up 2.92%), Religare Enterprises Ltd (up 2.61%), Indostar Capital Finance Ltd (up 2.57%), Dolat Investments Ltd (up 2.28%), and Corporation Bank (up 2.09%).

On the other hand, Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd (down 4.94%), Reliance Home Finance Ltd (down 4.91%), and Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 4.54%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 191.4 or 0.5% at 38298.27.

The Nifty 50 index was up 46.2 points or 0.41% at 11360.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 19.81 points or 0.15% at 12929.99.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 11.02 points or 0.25% at 4359.59.

On BSE,851 shares were trading in green, 557 were trading in red and 63 were unchanged.
