Financials stocks slip
Financials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 103.92 points or 2.38% at 4254.01 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (down 10.8%), Federal Bank Ltd (down 6.25%),Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 5.35%),CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (down 5%),AAVAS Financiers Ltd (down 5%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Repco Home Finance Ltd (down 5%), AU Small Finance Bank Ltd (down 4.99%), City Union Bank Ltd (down 4.96%), Reliance Capital Ltd (down 4.94%), and Magma Fincorp Ltd (down 4.71%).
On the other hand, Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (up 4.89%), Alankit Ltd (up 2.86%), and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (up 2.25%) turned up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 520.4 or 1.65% at 31040.82.
The Nifty 50 index was down 135.25 points or 1.46% at 9103.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 122.03 points or 1.15% at 10506.11.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 48.32 points or 1.28% at 3727.71.
On BSE,624 shares were trading in green, 1499 were trading in red and 150 were unchanged.
