FMCG stocks edge higher

FMCG stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 73.33 points or 0.61% at 12088.8 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Eveready Industries India Ltd (up 4.93%), Agro Tech Foods Ltd (up 4.04%),S H Kelkar & Company Ltd (up 2.16%),Jyothy Labs Ltd (up 1.87%),ITC Ltd (up 1.87%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Godfrey Phillips India Ltd (up 1.78%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd (up 1.58%), Gillette India Ltd (up 1.27%), Apex Frozen Foods Ltd (up 1.18%), and Waterbase Ltd (up 1.16%).

On the other hand, Coastal Corporation Ltd (down 4.73%), Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (down 4.47%), and Parag Milk Foods Ltd (down 1.72%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 139.59 or 0.36% at 39159.98.

The Nifty 50 index was up 27.2 points or 0.23% at 11609.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 23.22 points or 0.18% at 13227.53.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 14.1 points or 0.31% at 4525.2.

On BSE,774 shares were trading in green, 548 were trading in red and 81 were unchanged.
