FMCG stocks rise
FMCG stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 88.36 points or 0.77% at 11602.07 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Mcleod Russel India Ltd (up 4.34%), Tata Coffee Ltd (up 3.87%),Coastal Corporation Ltd (up 3.04%),Parag Milk Foods Ltd (up 2.99%),Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd (up 2.31%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Dabur India Ltd (up 2.22%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (up 2.21%), Tata Global Beverages Ltd (up 2.04%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd (up 1.74%), and Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd (up 1.72%).
On the other hand, Nath Bio-Genes (India) Ltd (down 3.1%), Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (down 2.15%), and Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd (down 1.3%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 240.59 or 0.58% at 41840.31.
The Nifty 50 index was up 67.5 points or 0.55% at 12324.3.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 91.11 points or 0.64% at 14238.75.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 25.82 points or 0.53% at 4892.17.
On BSE,1148 shares were trading in green, 382 were trading in red and 79 were unchanged.
