Gayatri Projects starts commercial operations of first unit of 600 MW coal fired power plant

Second unit to begin commercial operations in Q2 2015

Gayatri Projects announced that its first power project, Thermal Powertech Corporation India (TPICL) - joint venture between Gayatri Energy Ventures and SembCorp, has successfully commenced commercial operation with the completion of its first 600-megawatt unit.

The 1320 megawatt coal-fired power plant comprises two units of 660 megawatts each, with the second unit expected to begin commercial operations during the second quarter of 2015.
