Healthcare shares surge

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 88.97 points or 0.65% at 13679.53 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Hikal Ltd (up 4.93%), Indoco Remedies Ltd (up 4.17%),Lupin Ltd (up 3.53%),J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 3.19%),Shalby Ltd (up 2.42%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Dr Lal Pathlabs Ltd (up 2.42%), Thyrocare Technologies Ltd (up 2.34%), Bliss GVS Pharma Ltd (up 2.11%), Marksans Pharma Ltd (up 2.01%), and Wockhardt Ltd (up 1.89%).

On the other hand, Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (down 4.93%), Solara Active Pharma Sciences Ltd (down 4.52%), and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 1.95%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 177.29 or 0.43% at 41066.52.

The Nifty 50 index was up 40.2 points or 0.33% at 12113.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 67.69 points or 0.5% at 13529.96.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 19.63 points or 0.42% at 4729.23.

On BSE,1030 shares were trading in green, 451 were trading in red and 60 were unchanged.
