Consumer Durables stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Consumer Durables index rising 150.57 points or 0.61% at 24891.44 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Durables index, V I P Industries Ltd (up 1.98%), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electrical Ltd (up 1.33%),Whirlpool of India Ltd (up 0.95%),Rajesh Exports Ltd (up 0.87%),Titan Company Ltd (up 0.67%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Voltas Ltd (up 0.39%), and Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (up 0.02%).
On the other hand, Bajaj Electricals Ltd (down 3.1%), Blue Star Ltd (down 0.52%), and Symphony Ltd (down 0.25%) moved lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 141.41 or 0.35% at 40611.19.
The Nifty 50 index was up 46.5 points or 0.39% at 12012.55.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 83.56 points or 0.62% at 13556.57.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 29.81 points or 0.64% at 4672.09.
On BSE,985 shares were trading in green, 511 were trading in red and 81 were unchanged.
