Healthcare stocks rise
Healthcare stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 48.93 points or 0.38% at 13071.63 at 09:45 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Wockhardt Ltd (up 8.41%), Suven Life Sciences Ltd (up 4.57%),Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 3.02%),Shalby Ltd (up 2.91%),Medicamen Biotech Ltd (up 2.78%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd (up 2.16%), Sequent Scientific Ltd (up 1.97%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 1.88%), Pfizer Ltd (up 1.27%), and Morepen Laboratories Ltd (up 1.14%).
On the other hand, ERIS Lifesciences Ltd (down 3.11%), Syngene International Ltd (down 2.43%), and Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 2.27%) turned lower.
At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 229.17 or 0.61% at 37155.82.
The Nifty 50 index was down 69.85 points or 0.63% at 11006.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 21.08 points or 0.16% at 12991.97.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 14.78 points or 0.34% at 4315.88.
On BSE,663 shares were trading in green, 713 were trading in red and 90 were unchanged.
