Nifty March futures continue to trade at discountThe Nifty March 2020 futures were at 8,737.70, a discount of 52.40 points compared with the spot closing at 8,745.45.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 18.07 lakh crore compared with Rs 10.10 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index jumped 482 points or 5.83% at 8,745.45.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 7.3% to 66.925.
On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 26 March 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 21.66 lakh at the 12,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 21.03 lakh contracts was seen at 8,500 strike price.
HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
HDFC Bank March 2020 futures were at 880, compared with spot closing price of 881.25. ICICI Bank March 2020 futures were at 345 compared with spot closing price of 344.40. Reliance Industries March 2020 futures were at 1029.05, compared with spot closing price of 1028.
