Indian Bank advances as net NPA ratio drops on sequential basis in Q4

Indian Bank rose 2.07% to Rs 158.10 at 15:18 IST on BSE as the bank's ratio of net non-performing assets to net advances declined to 2.5% as on 31 March 2015 compared with 2.74% as on 31 December 2014.

The Q4 result was announced during market hours today, 14 May 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 52.25 points or 0.19% at 27,198.85.

On BSE, so far 2.89 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 25,613 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 164.75 and a low of Rs 155 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 224.20 on 1 January 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 122.10 on 13 May 2014.

 

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 13 May 2015, sliding 8.1% compared with Sensex's 6.17% fall. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 16.79% as against Sensex's 6.34% fall.

The mid-cap PSU bank stock has equity capital of Rs 480.29 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Indian Bank's ratio of net non-performing assets (NPAs) to net advances stood at 2.5% as on 31 March 2015 compared with 2.74% as on 31 December 2014 and 2.26% as on 31 March 2014. The ratio of gross NPAs to gross advances stood at 4.4% as on 31 March 2015 as against 4.52% as on 31 December 2014 and 3.67% as on 31 March 2014.

Indian Bank's net profit declined 24% to Rs 206.15 crore on 4.14% growth in total income to Rs 4410.48 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014.

The bank's provisions and contingencies dropped 5.28% to Rs 562.56 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014. NPA provision coverage ratio stood at 60.08% as on 31 March 2015.

Indian Bank's Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) as per Basel III norms stood at 12.86% as on 31 March 2015 as against 13.06% as on 31 December 2014 and 12.64% as on 31 March 2014.

The Government of India (GoI) held 82.1% stake in Indian Bank (as per the shareholding pattern as on 31 March 2015).
