Information Technology stocks edge higher

Information Technology stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index increasing 337.57 points or 2.96% at 11727.8 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, Trigyn Technologies Ltd (up 6.25%), Birlasoft Ltd (up 5.34%),Intellect Design Arena Ltd (up 4.98%),Datamatics Global Services Ltd (up 4.22%),Infosys Ltd (up 3.53%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Ramco Systems Ltd (up 3.5%), NIIT Technologies Ltd (up 3.2%), HCL Technologies Ltd (up 3.15%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (up 3.05%), and Wipro Ltd (up 2.81%).

On the other hand, Tanla Solutions Ltd (down 4.97%), Mastek Ltd (down 4.69%), and TVS Electronics Ltd (down 4.46%) turned lower.

 

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 47.31 or 0.17% at 28240.92.

The Nifty 50 index was down 9.75 points or 0.12% at 8253.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 3.83 points or 0.04% at 9725.73.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 2.31 points or 0.07% at 3480.09.

On BSE,811 shares were trading in green, 722 were trading in red and 71 were unchanged.
