Healthcare stocks rise

Healthcare stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 266.61 points or 2.34% at 11663.86 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Cadila Healthcare Ltd (up 9.01%), Ipca Laboratories Ltd (up 8.44%),Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 7.42%),Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 6.11%),Indoco Remedies Ltd (up 5.96%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 5.37%), Natco Pharma Ltd (up 5.18%), RPG Life Sciences Ltd (up 5.13%), Neuland Laboratories Ltd (up 5.04%), and Unichem Laboratories Ltd (up 4.47%).

On the other hand, Kilitch Drugs (India) Ltd (down 6.09%), Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd (down 5.35%), and IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 4.98%) turned lower.

 

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 47.31 or 0.17% at 28240.92.

The Nifty 50 index was down 9.75 points or 0.12% at 8253.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 3.83 points or 0.04% at 9725.73.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 2.31 points or 0.07% at 3480.09.

On BSE,811 shares were trading in green, 722 were trading in red and 71 were unchanged.
