Information Technology stocks edge higher
Information Technology stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index increasing 463.6 points or 3.77% at 12759.63 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, Infibeam Avenues Ltd (up 10%), Sonata Software Ltd (up 9.98%),Ramco Systems Ltd (up 9.94%),Kellton Tech Solutions Ltd (up 9.01%),Birlasoft Ltd (up 8.18%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tata Elxsi Ltd (up 7.54%), Majesco Ltd (up 7.42%), NIIT Technologies Ltd (up 7.22%), Infosys Ltd (up 6.59%), and Quick Heal Technologies Ltd (up 6.39%).
On the other hand, Subex Ltd (down 8.5%), Cerebra Integrated Technologies Ltd (down 4.81%), and Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd (down 1.63%) turned lower.
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 801.11 or 2.81% at 29336.89.
The Nifty 50 index was up 167.1 points or 2.01% at 8484.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 302.01 points or 3.31% at 9431.59.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 90.43 points or 2.71% at 3426.59.
On BSE,986 shares were trading in green, 356 were trading in red and 81 were unchanged.
