Information Technology stocks soar

Information Technology stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index increasing 277.95 points or 1.79% at 15819.2 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, TVS Electronics Ltd (up 3.13%), NIIT Technologies Ltd (up 2.96%),HCL Infosystems Ltd (up 2.77%),Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (up 2.71%),Subex Ltd (up 2.12%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Quick Heal Technologies Ltd (up 2.09%), Cerebra Integrated Technologies Ltd (up 1.87%), Hexaware Technologies Ltd (up 1.59%), HCL Technologies Ltd (up 1.59%), and Zensar Technologies Ltd (up 1.58%).

On the other hand, Newgen Software Technologies Ltd (down 1.68%), Birlasoft Ltd (down 1.57%), and Infibeam Avenues Ltd (down 1.28%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 132.95 or 0.32% at 41493.69.

The Nifty 50 index was down 46.5 points or 0.38% at 12235.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 21.65 points or 0.15% at 14006.41.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 11.02 points or 0.23% at 4837.73.

On BSE,817 shares were trading in green, 647 were trading in red and 83 were unchanged.
