Jaiprakash Associates tumbles as net loss widens in Q1

Jaiprakash Associates slumped 5.29% to Rs 11.28 at 12:17 IST on BSE after the company reported a net loss of Rs 464.99 crore in Q1 June 2015, higher than net loss of Rs 80.61 crore in Q1 June 2014.

The Q1 result was announced on Saturday, 8 August 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 151.78 points or 0.54% at 28,388.17.

On BSE, so far 27.26 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 33.46 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 11.78 and a low of Rs 11.12 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record low of Rs 8.73 on 29 July 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 61.40 on 7 August 2014.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 7 August 2015, advancing 0.51% compared with Sensex's 0.23% rise. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 36.65% as against Sensex's 6.16% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 486.49 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Jaiprakash Associates' net sales declined 20.7% to Rs 2377.54 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.
