Oil and Gas shares gain
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 105.65 points or 0.72% at 14825.11 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.71%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.51%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.31%),Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.86%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.71%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.55%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.4%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.27%).
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.24%), and Castrol India Ltd (down 0.08%) moved lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 17.73 or 0.04% at 41877.42.
The Nifty 50 index was up 1.05 points or 0.01% at 12330.6.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 81.62 points or 0.57% at 14363.71.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 27.55 points or 0.56% at 4924.46.
On BSE,1008 shares were trading in green, 431 were trading in red and 64 were unchanged.
