Oil and Gas stocks slide

Oil and Gas stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index decreasing 211.57 points or 1.45% at 14358.21 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 4.41%), Castrol India Ltd (down 3.58%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.24%),Reliance Industries Ltd (down 2.03%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.9%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.77%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.02%), Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.91%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 0.08%).

On the other hand, Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.51%), turned up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 299.25 or 0.73% at 40899.41.

The Nifty 50 index was down 92.15 points or 0.76% at 12037.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 135.89 points or 0.92% at 14704.8.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 39.95 points or 0.78% at 5051.01.

On BSE,712 shares were trading in green, 1586 were trading in red and 128 were unchanged.
