Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index records a surge of 4.15%, NIFTY climbs 1.66%

Nifty Auto index ended up 4.15% at 9180.2 today. The index has lost 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd jumped 8.32%, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd rose 6.31% and Tata Motors Ltd gained 6.05%. The Nifty Auto index has decreased 19.00% over last one year compared to the 1.24% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 3.02% and Nifty Commodities index increased 2.59% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.66% to close at 10553 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.68% to close at 35011.65 today.
