Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 2.22%

Nifty Media index ended up 2.22% at 1876.5 today. The index has gained 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd rose 5.49%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd added 4.93% and Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd jumped 3.91%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 21.00% over last one year compared to the 11.02% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has dropped 1.43% and Nifty Auto index has dropped 1.28% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.45% to close at 12169.85 while the SENSEX has slid 0.49% to close at 41323.81 today.
